MAKE EXTRA CASH WITH THESE 5 EASY-TO-LEARN DIGITAL SKILLS

There has been a massive explosion in the digital world. The COVID pandemic served as a catalyst to draw many people into the digital space. Now, almost everything has gone digital.

I was shocked when I saw an old woman selling what we call “okpa” in my dialect doing online banking. I was curious and asked how she came to that point, knowing that most people in her generation see digital stuff as a new trend.

She explained how she wasn’t able to make any sales for some time because she didn’t want to go digital, and that forced her to.

Refusing to go digital is like living at the river bank yet refusing to take a bath. People make thousands of dollars, working from the comfort of their homes. Others who still do onsite jobs have their jobs made easy with digital skills.

It is only necessary that everyone has a digital skill in this age. In this article, I’m going to discuss five easy-to-learn skills that you can learn within 2-3 months and start earning.

Video editing

Wikipedia defines video editing as the post-production and arrangement of video shots. Video editing is quite lucrative because of the popular demand.

Video editing can be used by organisations to create promotional or informative videos. It can also be used on social media platforms by individually creating videos for various purposes. You can learn video editing within 3 months and gain enough knowledge for entry-level jobs.

Social media management

Social media management is basically the management of a company’s or individual’s online presence. It involves strategizing, creating, and publishing content to maximise interaction between the company and the public. You can get internships after 3 months of training and start your career as a social media manager from there.

Content Writing

Content writers are trained to produce quality content for different fields of work on different platforms. For example, blog posts, surveys, etc. 2-3 months of dedication to learning this skill will land you an entry-level job as a content writer.

Copywriting

Copywriting has to do with writing content to persuade your audience to take a particular action. It is aimed at marketing and making sales. You can learn the basics of copywriting within 2 months, which will help you build a portfolio to land a job.

Virtual assistance

Busy entrepreneurs and small businesses hire virtual assistants to help clear some work off their desks. Virtual assistants are professionals trained to provide various kinds of help remotely. Their work includes scheduling appointments, social media management, bookkeeping, and other official errands.

Learning the necessary things you need for this role could take 3 months, after which you could try out self-made projects to build your portfolio. This would help you land your first job.

Conclusion

These are skills you can learn in 2-3 months and gain enough knowledge to land your first job. However, you have to be consistent and dedicated to learning. 2-3 months of unserious learning will not equip you for your first job.

2-3 months of training does not make anyone an expert in a particular field. After gaining the basic knowledge, you have to put in more work to update your skill set. Being an expert and keeping up with new trends in your field will earn you more money.
