I will be sharing Five movies that dominated the internet space. These movies was and is the most talked-about movies worldwide. They made waves across Europe, America, Asia, Africa. These movies didn’t only dominate the internet, they were in everyone’s mouth and also left a mark, If you are in the social media space and didn’t see any of these movies, then you are the real MVP (lol). It therefore means you are not swayed by anything.
First on my list will be
Game of Thrones
This was one of the most talked about shows worldwide. I didn’t join the bandwagon until it was 6 seasons in. I binge-watched all six seasons in just 3days to join in the conversations on social media and with friends. The series won 59 Primetime Emmy awards not counting other award nominations and wins. “Game of Thrones” was, and still a huge deal.
Merlin”
With its opening line that pops into your head frequently you know “Merlin” definitely left a mark. The 2008 series introduced everyone to the world of magic, love, and Adventure. Merlin bagged 30 different awards in various categories.
Black Panther
The movie had the theater packed everywhere. I believe every black person saw Black Panther. The movie wasn’t only the fun part but the fun was watching it together as a family and group. In the US, the black community made a huge deal out of it, celebrating not only their African roots but the beauty and strength we possess. Set in the fictional world of, “Wakanda”, the movie broke records and is still a huge deal.
Acrimony
People went to bed analyzing this story, just when you thought you had a solid point, another perspective would pop up, making you rethink everything. And all this was because of the movie “Acrimony”. Tyle Perry as always left fans debating online about his movie. Any time you logged on, Acrimony was the topic, and you went out, it was still the topic with the question “Who was wrong?” For someone constantly surrounded by this debate, you just had to watch it and throw in your opinion so you are not left behind.
Bridgerton/ Queen charlotte
The show debuted on Netflix in 2020 and has been a sensational breath of fresh air for historical romance lovers every year since. Featuring emotional drama, scandal, sparkling ball gowns, a castle, top-notch social etiquette, and the all-important British stiff upper lip, who wouldn’t love Bridgerton?. With over 5 million followers on Instagram and over 1 million on other platforms, the fanbase has consistently dominated social media each year with Dress ups and Tiktok trends.
